The YMCA of the Palm Beaches is proud to host our Adaptive Swim Program for children and teens in Palm Beach County. The Y promotes and provides access to healthy lifestyles for all children and teens, including those with disabilities. Through positive experiences, we emphasize each person's abilities and individuality and help participants in our swim program to build social skills. Kids in our Adaptive Swim Program will work toward a healthy mind, body and spirit.

Program Details

The Adaptive Swim Program is designed for children and teens between the ages of 5-15 with special needs. The Adaptive Program uses an individualized approach to help children with special needs develop skills to safely enjoy the water. Each swimmer is grouped with a trained instructor who adapts their methods to best meet the swimmer's specific needs. This new and innovative program will help children and teens build their confidence, learn how to relax around the water, build stamine, and have fun while meeting new friends.

Our classes have a low student:instructor ratio of 3:1 to ensure individualized attention in a small group setting.
